Roughly ten years ago, the Church of Christ at White Station dreamed of adding to their existing facilities. They saw a need for more efficient office spaces, planned for an expansion of available classrooms, and anticipated a new meeting space for the youth group as well as a modern gym and exercise facility for expanded ministry activities. Church members eagerly committed to an ambitious funding drive and ground was broken under what became the Community Life Center we see today. From the outset, the Community Life Center was planned as a great tool for the congregation's members and their ministry activities. Also from the very beginning, the Elders were very intentional about creating a space that would also bless the community around our campus and beyond. The CLC was never planned as a place for just church activity. It was, and still is, intended to be a place where our community can gather together, experience hospitality and love, and really get to experience what a neighborhood community center can really become.
Today, the CLC is still strongly committed to providing a safe and encouraging place for our community to enjoy the blessings God has provided free of charge. There is no hard sell to become a church member or convert and we won't turn away anyone from our community simply because they believe something other than we do. We simply want to see our little corner of East Memphis become a better place - one person at a time - and we figure sharing God's blessing with our neighbors can go a long way toward that goal. We believe this is how Christ would love His neighbor and so are committed to doing the same.
